US Olympic Trials 2024: Gabby Thomas beat strong field to claim women’s 200m title

Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medallist – Gabrielle Lisa Thomas proved why she is the United State of America’s poster lady when it comes to 200-meter dash on Saturday as she bulldozed her way into winning the women’s 200m race at the US Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
As characterized of her race, the Atlanta, Georgia born sprinter [Thomas] took off from the starting blocks with a powerful forward stride to lead the field, but she had to keep her head above the water after the curve having gotten company from Brittany Brown and McKenzie Long.
With focus written on her aesthetic face, Gabby Thomas did not relent but crossed the finished line in 21.81 seconds ahead of Brittany Brown [21.90] and McKenzie Long [21.91], who finished two-three respectively.

Meanwhile, sprint diva – Sha’Carri Richardson did not make the cut having finished fourth. This means that Richardson will compete in the 100m, and the 4x100m relay for United State in Paris.
“This is incredible,” Thomas said in a post race interview on NBC.
“I knew that I needed to get today done. There was no gold medal in Paris without making the team.
“I’m just ecstatic.”
Thomas, 27, claimed the 200m silver medal in the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Hungary, Budapest with a time of 21.81 seconds and would be hoping to challenge for the women’s 200m gold in Paris.
