The official media accreditation portal for upcoming Commonwealth Games will be live on Monday for interested journalists across the world

The official Commonwealth Games portal for journalists will be opened on Monday, January 26, 2026 ahead of the upcoming games to be staged in Glasgow, Scotland.

Journalists will be expected to fill the forms online and go through series of checks from the organising body before a final decision is made.

“We’re pleased to confirm that media accreditation for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will officially open at 09:00 (GMT) on Monday 26 January,” an official statement read.

“Accredited media will have access to competition venues, training venues, Games Media Hub, media conferences and other key operational facilities throughout the Games. We encourage all journalists, photographers and non-rights holding broadcast intending to cover Glasgow 2026 to begin the application process as early as possible.

“From 9am on Monday, media representatives are invited to visit the Glasgow 2026 media page and follow the instructions provided to complete and submit your accreditation application.

“The accreditation window will remain open until 23:59 (BST) on 24 April 2026. Applications submitted after this deadline are unlikely to be considered, so we strongly advise applicants to plan accordingly.

“If you have any questions regarding the accreditation process, requirements or timelines, please contact the Media Operations team by emailing mediaoperations@glasgow2026.com.

“We look forward to welcoming media from across the Commonwealth to Glasgow this summer,” the statement added.

The last Commonwealth Games took place in Birmingham and many African athletes won medals for their respective countries.
