“I Felt Something Special” – André Ayew Opens Up on NAC Breda Move

Ghana captain André Ayew has revealed that a strong emotional connection and clear sporting vision played a key role in his decision to join Dutch side NAC Breda, describing the move as one he felt was “something special” from the very beginning.

Speaking in his first interview since completing the transfer, Ayew explained that discussions with the club’s leadership and coaching staff convinced him that NAC Breda was the right next step in his career. The 35-year-old said the ambition shown by the club, combined with its passionate supporters and strong football culture, made the decision easy.

“I felt something special when I spoke with the people at NAC Breda,” Ayew said. “There was honesty, ambition and a clear plan for what they want to achieve. That gave me confidence that this is the right place for me at this stage of my career.”

Ayew arrives in the Netherlands with vast experience, having played in top leagues across England, France and Turkey, as well as captaining Ghana at international level. He believes his experience will allow him to contribute both on and off the pitch, particularly in helping younger players develop and in pushing the team to compete at a higher level.

“I’m here not just to play but to help the team grow,” he added. “I want to bring my experience, my mentality and my desire to win into this group. NAC Breda has a lot of potential and I want to be part of something important here.”

The Ghanaian forward also spoke about the warm reception he has received from the club’s fans, saying their enthusiasm has already made him feel at home. He hopes to repay that support with strong performances and goals as the season progresses.

Ayew’s arrival is seen as a major boost for NAC Breda as they look to strengthen their squad and push toward their competitive targets, with the Black Stars captain expected to play a leading role in their campaign.
