Speaking in an interview with Akoma FM, he said: “The players, though immensely talented, must go beyond simply relying on the instructions of the technical bench headed by Otto Addo.”
He stressed that, on many occasions, it becomes obvious when a coach’s tactics are failing, and in such moments the players must dig deep, apply their own intuition, and play for Ghana.
On the performance of Coach Otto Addo, Hon. Boyoyo minced no words, remarking that “the less said about him, the better.” He further criticized the coach’s posture on the touchline, arguing that it does not inspire confidence in either the players or the supporters.
Despite these concerns, Hon. Boyoyo expressed optimism about the future of the Black Stars, emphasizing that the team has the quality to succeed.
He urged the players to take responsibility on the pitch, rise above the odds, and embody the spirit of resilience that has long defined the Black Stars.
Ghana will take on Mali on Monday night at the Accra sports stadium in the 2026 FIFA world Cup qualifiers.
