Ghana Set to Participate in Seven Sports at 2026 Commonwealth Games
Ghana has officially announced its participation in seven disciplines at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, set to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
The selected disciplines for Team Ghana include:

Boxing

Cycling – Track (including Para)

Judo

Swimming (including Para)

Weightlifting (including Para)
Mr. Ernest Danso, the 3rd Vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and President of the Ghana Baseball & Softball Federation, has been appointed as the Chef de Mission for Team Ghana. Mr. Danso brings valuable experience to the role, having previously served as Chef de Mission during the 13th African Games hosted in Accra.
Ghana’s participation in Glasgow follows a successful campaign at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where the country secured a total of five medals. Boxing contributed two silver and one bronze medal, while Athletics added two bronze medals to the tally.
With a strong contingent across multiple sports and experienced leadership at the helm, Ghana aims to build on its past success and make a significant impact at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
