Barcelona Secure Second UEFA Champions League Title

Barcelona clinched their second Women’s Champions League crown in dramatic fashion, overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat German heavyweights Wolfsburg. Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Spanish champions were inspired by Patri Guijarro, who scored twice within two minutes early in the second half to level the score.

Buoyed by their quick comeback, Barcelona applied relentless pressure, and Fridolina Rolfo sealed the victory with a powerful close-range strike 20 minutes from time.

Wolfsburg had started strongly, with top scorer Ewa Pajor capitalizing on a mistake by England defender Lucy Bronze to open the scoring. Germany international Alexandra Popp then headed in a second goal after a precise cross from Pajor, putting the German side firmly in control.

Barcelona had struggled for rhythm in the first half but showcased the quality that has seen them reach four finals in five seasons. The comeback highlighted their resilience and tactical nous, proving they could respond under pressure.

Among the victors was England midfielder Keira Walsh, who secured her first European title, while Bronze made history as the first English woman to win the Champions League with two different clubs, adding to her three consecutive titles with Lyon between 2018 and 2020.

The triumph marked a return to glory for Barcelona after losing last year’s final to Lyon and cemented their status among Europe’s elite in women’s football.
