Medeama claim first-leg advantage over Horoya in CAF Champions League.

Ghanaian champions Medeama SC claimed a crucial first-leg advantage in their CAF Champions League playoff tie against Guinean heavyweights Horoya AC on Sunday, securing a 3-1 victory in front of their home fans in Cape Coast.
Medeama controlled the match with determination, keeping the visitors at bay in the first half. The breakthrough came early in the second half when Nana Kofi Babil opened the scoring in the 48th minute, setting the tone for the Tarkwa-based side’s dominant display.
Nurudeen Abdulai doubled Medeama’s lead in the 65th minute from a well-executed corner, putting Horoya on the back foot. Kofi Asmah then capped off the scoring with a composed strike, giving Medeama a comfortable cushion heading into the return leg.
Horoya managed to pull one back in the 89th minute, earning a valuable away goal that could prove important when the two sides meet again in Conakry in two weeks.
With this result, Medeama head into the second leg with a strong chance of reaching the CAF Champions League group stage, but they will need to maintain focus to see off the 2021/22 Guinée Championnat National champions.
