Ampem Darkoa Ladies kick off CAF Women’s Champions League with victory.

Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies made a winning start to their CAF Women’s Champions League campaign, rallying from behind to beat Moroccan side AS FAR 2-1 in San Pedro.
The visitors took an early lead in the 14th minute through Najat Badri, but Ampem Darkoa gradually settled into the match, creating chances though failing to equalise before halftime.
In the second half, Comfort Yeboah struck in the 57th minute to level the scores, and shortly after, AS FAR defender Nouhaila Benzina inadvertently scored an own goal, giving the Ghanaian side the lead. Ampem Darkoa then controlled the remainder of the game to secure all three points in their opening Group B match.
Next, Ampem Darkoa will face Malian champions AS Mande, before concluding the group stage against Equatorial Guinea’s Huracanes. The team, chasing a historic quadruple after winning the Women’s Premier League, FA Cup, and WAFU Zone B tournament, will look to build on this strong start.
