I don’t want to lose Antoine Semenyo- AFC Bournemouth Manager

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has expressed his strong desire to keep hold of star winger Antoine Semenyo, but admits the Ghana international’s future may ultimately be beyond his control.

The 25-year-old has attracted attention from some of England’s biggest clubs, including Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool. Recent reports have also suggested that Chelsea have made enquiries about a potential January move for the former Bristol City forward.

Speaking about Semenyo’s future, Iraola said, “Antoine Semenyo right now is with us. He’s playing very well. My concern is that it doesn’t affect him.

“He’s played very well, he’s committed to the team and and I hope we can keep him. There are things happening out of our control.

“Antoine, for me, has been performing very well. The level of consistency has been very good since the beginning of the season.

“He’s very valuable for us – not just the numbers, but a lot of things

“You never know what is going to happen. In the summer there were a lot of movements. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the winter movements.

“At the end, you sign a contract and understand that both parties are happy. I hope we don’t lose him, but I don’t know,

“I can’t control what’s going to happen,” he added.

Semenyo, who recently signed a new contract keeping him at Bournemouth until 2030, has a £65million release clause that will come into effect in January. The winger has been in outstanding form during the 2025-26 season, registering eight goals and three assists in just 16 Premier League appearances.

Bournemouth will hope Semenyo can continue his impressive goalscoring run when they face Brentford at the Vitality Stadium in their upcoming Premier League fixture on Saturday.
