All I need to do is to trust my coach and to trust myself – Julien Alfred speaks ahead of Paris 2024

Saint Lucian sprinter – Julien Alfred has shared her delight for winning the women’s 100m race yesterday at the 2024 Diamond League in Monaco, France.
The 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships gold medallist in the women’s 60m [Alfred], coasted 10.85 [-1.0] to win the 100m, ahead of Tamari Davis [10.99], and Dina Asher-Smith [10.99] respectively.
Nicknamed Juju, the 23-year-old sprinter from Ciceron, Castries shared her delight in her post race interview while opening up on her expectations at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in France.
“I was specially prepared today not to make a mistake and to just focus on myself and my own race.
“I felt great during the race but now my legs hurt a bit because I did a heavy training.
“Of course, I can not complain right now, as I am taking home the Diamond League win. I am getting better with each race, I run more relaxed as well.
“I feel confident. I know that all I need to do is to trust my coach and to trust myself. The coach knows what is the best for me.
“I really love this Monaco crowd and the introduction of the event with the lights. I will get back to practice and just focus for my preparations for the Paris.”
Julien Alfred is all, but set to compete in the women’s 100, and 200m at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
She is, however, bent on becoming the first ever sprinter to win an Olympic medal for the Eastern Caribbean Island nation.
