Otto Addo Watches Kudus in London as Black Stars Intensify 2026 World Cup Preparations

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo was in London on Sunday as part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, attending the Premier League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Addo was a special guest of Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus, whose impressive form since his summer move from West Ham United has made him one of Spurs’ standout performers this season.

The visit was part of Addo’s wider plan to closely monitor Ghanaian players based in Europe ahead of the global showpiece, which will take place across Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

The evening, however, took an unfortunate turn when Kudus was forced off just 19 minutes into the match after sustaining an injury. He was replaced by Randal Kolo Muani, raising concerns over his short-term fitness. After the final whistle, Addo spent time with Kudus to assess the situation and discuss next steps, highlighting the player’s importance to Ghana’s World Cup ambitions.

A former Borussia Dortmund player and coach, Otto Addo is focused on guiding the Black Stars to their fifth World Cup appearance. Ghana will compete in Group L, facing Panama, England, and Croatia, as preparations intensify for another bid to make history on football’s biggest stage.
