AFCON 2025: Cameroon Players Receive €30k Bonus Following Qualifier Win

Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has awarded a €30,000 bonus to each member of the national team following their qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals. The move, coordinated with Sports Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, is intended to reward the players for their achievement and motivate them ahead of the next stage.

The Indomitable Lions secured their quarter-final spot with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over South Africa, demonstrating resilience and determination.

The bonuses are part of Cameroon’s performance-based incentive scheme, underscoring the country’s commitment to rewarding success in major continental tournaments. Each player will receive approximately 18.18 million CFA francs, providing a substantial financial boost as they prepare for their upcoming quarter-final clash against Morocco.

Cameroon, who are chasing a sixth AFCON title, will hope that the reward not only recognizes past efforts but also inspires them to push for glory in the tournament’s decisive stages.
