Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, have paid a courtesy visit to Access Bank Ghana ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2024.
The visit further strengthened the partnership between Access Bank (Ghana) Plc, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the Black Stars. The delegation, made up of players and officials from the GFA, was warmly received by the bank’s Managing Director, Olumide Olatunji, alongside key executives including Pearl Nkrumah, Executive Director of Digital and Retail Banking; Matilda Asante-Asiedu, Group Head of Retail Banking; and Oluwaseun David-Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Communications and Brand Management.
Addressing the team, Mr. Olatunji commended the players for their commitment and dedication to representing Ghana on the international stage.
“At Access Bank, we do more than banking, we are a catalyst for national growth and pride. Our partnership with the GFA reflects our vision to advance Africa in the best way possible. This relationship goes beyond sponsorship; it is an investment in Ghana’s spirit, resilience, and future,” he said.
He further encouraged the players ahead of their upcoming qualifier against Mali.
“On the pitch, you are warriors, pushing our flag higher with every match. Off the pitch, you are ambassadors, showcasing Ghana’s talent to the world. At Access Bank, we pledge our continued support. Our resources, expertise, and global network are your strength off the pitch. As you step onto the pitch on Thursday, we wish you the very best.”
Also speaking to the team, Group Head of Retail Banking Matilda Asante-Asiedu highlighted Access Bank’s extensive global footprint and commitment to supporting the players wherever their careers may take them.
