Tuchel hails Arsenal as an elite team despite Champions League setback

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has expressed his admiration for Arsenal, praising the Gunners’ consistency and development over recent seasons despite eliminating them 3–2 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.
After a six-year absence from Europe’s elite competition, Arsenal reached the last eight only to fall to Bayern, who are now well-positioned to secure silverware after missing out on domestic honours. The Gunners had also suffered a league setback last weekend, losing 2–0 to Aston Villa before their European exit.
Speaking to the press after the match, Tuchel highlighted Arsenal’s attacking style, tactical fluidity, and overall personality on the pitch, describing them as an elite side with immense potential.
“I know that maybe Mikel might not want to hear this, but for me, they are there. If you watch Arsenal games in the last two seasons, it’s a consistency of attacking football, scoring goals, and not conceding goals. It’s fun to watch. Every match, there’s something to learn. It’s so fluid, it’s so impressive… for me, they are an elite team,” Tuchel said.
With their Champions League campaign over, Arsenal now turn their attention to the Premier League, aiming to end the season on a high and secure their first league title in two decades.
Despite the disappointment of their European exit, Arsenal can take pride in reaching the knockout stages for the first time in seven years, a milestone that underscores the club’s progress and offers hope for further success in Europe’s top competition in the coming seasons.
