Pre Classic 2026: Hayward field continues to showcase Black women photographers

For the fifth consecutive year, TrackTown USA and Black Women Photographers will partner to provide paid opportunities for visual creatives at select events at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon this season.

“TrackTown USA is thrilled to continue our work with the Black Women Photographers organization for the 2026 season,” said TrackTown USA CEO Michael Reilly. “The work of the artists we have hired through Black Women Photographers has had an immeasurable impact on our events. They have brought a fresh set of eyes and incredible talent to capturing both the athletes and the sport of track & field. As we embark on our fifth year working with Black Women Photographers, we could not be more excited to see what the talented group will add to this year’s events.”

Applications are being accepted now through April 23 at BlackWomenPhotographers.com/TrackTown-USA.

Applicants are also encouraged to showcase their submitted work via Instagram by posting with the hashtag #BWPxTrackTown.

“What started as a single opportunity five years ago has grown into a sustained commitment to equity, visibility, and investment in our community. Each year, talented photographers not only gain access to world-class events, but also document world-class athletes at the highest level—capturing moments that define careers and inspire future generations,” said Black Women Photographers founder Polly Irungu. “This continued collaboration is proof that when intention meets action, real change happens—and we’re just getting started.”

TrackTown USA and Black Women Photographers will jointly review all applications and select the creatives who will be hired to cover this summer’s events. The content produced by the selected photographers and videographers will be used across TrackTown USA and Pre Classic platforms as part of event coverage.
