Morocco Set to Host Club World Cup This February

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that Morocco will host the next FIFA Club World Cup from February 1 to 11, 2023. The announcement was made during a press conference in Doha on Friday.
This marks the third time Morocco will host the tournament, having previously welcomed the competition in 2013 and 2014. The most recent edition was held in the United Arab Emirates in February, with Chelsea claiming the trophy.
Infantino also revealed that FIFA is planning an expanded version of the Club World Cup to begin in 2025, although the February edition will follow the current format. Under this format, the champions of the six continental federations compete alongside the top team from the host nation.
European champions Real Madrid, who previously won the 2014 edition in Morocco, will represent Europe after their UEFA Champions League triumph last season.
Other continental champions set to participate include Flamengo (Brazil), Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Seattle Sounders (United States), and Auckland City (New Zealand).
