Black Stars to Battle in Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia in 2026 World Cup Group Stage

Ghana’s Black Stars will play their group-stage matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup across Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia, following the release of the full tournament schedule on Saturday.
The four-time African champions will begin their World Cup campaign on Wednesday, June 17, when they take on Panama at BMO Field in Toronto. The opening fixture is expected to be a crucial tone-setter in Group L, as head coach Otto Addo and his squad aim to launch the expanded tournament with confidence and momentum.
Ghana’s second group match comes on Tuesday, June 23, against England at the iconic Gillette Stadium in Boston. This fixture is widely regarded as the Black Stars’ marquee clash of the group phase. With a large and vibrant Ghanaian community based in the region, the team is expected to enjoy strong diaspora backing, creating a lively and intimidating atmosphere for their opponents.
The Black Stars will conclude their group-stage campaign on Saturday, June 27, facing Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Depending on results from the opening two matches, the encounter could prove decisive in determining Ghana’s progression to the tournament’s newly introduced Round of 32, adding further intensity to the showdown.
