Julien Alfred dedicates Olympic gold medal to her late father

Saint Lucia golden girl – Julien ‘Juju’ Alfred has dedicated her historic Olympic 100m medal to her late father, Julian Hamilton who passed away in 2013.
It was a walk in the park for the Ciceron [Castries] born sprinter who set the crowd at Stade de France ablaze as well as sending the entire 180,854 population of Saint Lucia into frenzy mood having ran 10.72 seconds to beat Sha’ Carri Richardson [10.87], and Melissa Jefferson [10.92] in the process.
Despite running in rainy conditions at Stade de France, Alfred seem to have gotten her notes right from the blocks where she was more superior to any other sprinter on the tracks.
The Saint Lucian golden girl extended her lead during her drive and acceleration phases, and at 60 meters, Alfred had a stride lead ahead of Richardson and the rest of the sprinters.
Sha’ Carri Richardson on the other hand a very poor start and had to push herself above her elastic limit to win the silver.
Speaking in a post race interview, Alfred revealed that she won the gold for her father:
“I’m thinking of God, my dad, who didn’t get to see me. He passed away in 2013. Dad, this is for you. I miss you. I did it for him, I did it for my coach and God,” Alfred said.
