The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the schedule for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, with the new campaign set to begin over the weekend of September 4 to 7, 2026.
According to the FA, the season will run through to May 28 to 31, 2027, in line with its approved football calendar. Matches will continue to be played primarily on weekends, while midweek dates will be reserved for outstanding fixtures to ensure the competition stays on track.
“The early release of the season calendar will help members of the Ghana Football Association and all stakeholders to plan their season ahead,” the GFA said in a statement.
The Association also reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a well-structured campaign.
“The GFA is committed to the smooth and efficient execution of the calendar,” the statement added, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve organisation across domestic competitions.
The announcement provides clarity for clubs, players and partners as preparations begin for another league season. It also aligns with broader efforts by the GFA to maintain consistency in scheduling and reduce fixture congestion, a key concern in recent campaigns.
The new timeline is expected to guide planning across all levels of Ghanaian football ahead of the 2026/27 season.
