Black Princesses Wrap Up Preparations Ahead of World Cup

Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses, are set to conclude their training camp in Accra on Monday as they gear up for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. The squad has been undergoing intensive preparations in Cape Coast since June 27, focusing on tactical strategies, physical conditioning, and building team cohesion.

A friendly match in Accra on Monday will serve as the final test for the team before they depart for Colombia, allowing the coaching staff to fine-tune tactics and assess player readiness.

Ghana has been drawn in Group E, alongside Austria, Japan, and New Zealand, and will kick off their campaign against Austria on September 2 at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogotá. The Black Princesses are determined to progress beyond the group stage for the first time, following six previous attempts that ended in disappointment.

Confidence is high within the squad after recent triumphs at the 2023 African Games and the WAFU B Girls Cup, achievements that underscore Ghana’s growing strength in women’s football. With thorough preparation and a motivated squad, the Black Princesses aim to make a strong impression on the world stage.
