Former Ghana captain Andre Ayew joins Dutch side NAC Breda until the end of the season

Substantive Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew has signed a new deal with Dutch Eredevisie side NAC Breda.
The experienced attacker has put pen to paper on a short-term deal with NAC Breda, joining the Dutch side until the end of the season after spending the opening half of the 2025/26 campaign without a club.
At 36, the forward brings vast experience and a strong global profile, having represented Ghana’s Black Stars on 120 occasions at international level. His arrival is seen as a major boost for NAC Breda as they prepare for a tough fight to preserve their Eredivisie status.
Speaking after completing the move, Ayew stressed his love for difficult challenges. He noted that NAC offered him exactly what he was looking for, both individually and collectively, adding that his main focus is to give everything possible to support the club and his teammates. He highlighted that survival in the top flight is the only objective, emphasising the importance of mental strength as the season reaches a decisive phase. According to him, unity between the players and the fans will be crucial as they confront the challenge together in the second half of the campaign.
The former Olympique Marseille and Swansea City man is expected to play a key leadership role on and off the pitch as NAC Breda battle to avoid relegation.
With his signing, Ayew becomes the third Ghanaian in the squad, linking up with compatriots Dennis Odoi and Kamal Sowah, further strengthening the Ghanaian presence at the club.
