EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle United send scouts to monitor Ghana and Nordsjaelland starlet Prince Amoako Junior

PRINCE AMOAKO

Scouts from Newcastle United were in Denmark over the weekend as Prince Amoako Junior bagged his seventh league goal of the season in Nordsjaelland’s 2-1 win over Viborg, 3Sports can confirm.

Prince Amoako Junior has been in mesmerising form for Nordsjaelland this term, providing 12 goal contributions in 26 league games, putting him on the wishlist of top European clubs.

Amoako’s vital strike on Sunday came after 32 minutes, with the Ghanaian producing a smart finish to restore parity for his side before Janssen sealed the result at the death. Newcastle United have struggled for consistency in the Premier League this term, with the club losing their last four games across all competitions.

However, with Anthony Gordon heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer; Anthony Elanga’s struggle for form and the inconsistencies of Harvey Barnes, Amoako could potentially be a good addition to the club in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle lie 14th in the Premier League, having amassed 42 points from 33 games.

Together, with Newcastle United, scouts from Bundesliga side Freiburg were in attendance, keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old winger.
