Black Stars Prepare for Key 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

The Black Stars held their first training session on Tuesday in Kumasi ahead of their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros. Led by coach Chris Hughton, the squad trained at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with 24 players taking part in an hour-long session focused on fitness, tactics, and team coordination.

The team will continue training at the same venue on Wednesday as they gear up for their opening match against Madagascar on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium. Following that, Ghana will travel to Moroni for their encounter with Comoros on Tuesday.

Ghana aim to top Group I, which also features Mali, the Central African Republic, and Chad, to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. A strong showing in these qualifiers could earn the Black Stars their fifth World Cup appearance.
