Lionel Messi’s Instagram post celebrating Argentina’s World Cup triumph has become one of the most popular posts on the platform. The Paris Saint-Germain star shared 10 photos capturing the jubilant celebrations in Qatar after Argentina defeated France in a dramatic penalty shootout in the 2022 World Cup final.

The post has already amassed 56 million likes, surpassing a previous record held by Messi himself, and highlighting the global appeal of the World Cup winner. In addition, Messi’s Instagram following has now exceeded 402 million.

Messi’s record-breaking post has also eclipsed a recent post by Cristiano Ronaldo, which had accumulated 41.9 million likes. Ronaldo’s post, an advertisement for Louis Vuitton ahead of the World Cup, featured the two football legends playing chess.

Despite Messi’s record-breaking post, Ronaldo remains the most-followed individual on Instagram, boasting a staggering 519 million followers.
