Liverpool return to Champions League action with 3-1 win over AC Milan.

Liverpool bounced back emphatically in their Champions League return, claiming a 3-1 victory over AC Milan at the San Siro to erase the disappointment of Saturday’s shock defeat to Nottingham Forest.

AC Milan started brightly, taking an early lead inside three minutes when winger Christian Pulisic drove a precise shot across goal, catching Liverpool off guard. However, the Reds quickly regained control under Arne Slot’s guidance, asserting dominance over the remainder of the first half.

Mohamed Salah came close twice, hitting the woodwork on both occasions, before Ibrahima Konate headed home a Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick in the 23rd minute to level the score. Just before halftime, Virgil van Dijk completed Liverpool’s turnaround with a close-range header from a Konstantinos Tsimikas corner, giving the visitors a 2-1 advantage.

The victory was sealed in the 67th minute as Cody Gakpo drove forward before squaring the ball to Dominik Szoboszlai, who tapped in Liverpool’s third goal.

The match also saw summer signing Federico Chiesa make his debut for Liverpool, coming on for Salah in the 93rd minute, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come.

With the win, Liverpool restored their momentum in Europe, showing resilience and cohesion as they continue their Champions League campaign.
