Athletics Azamati in dark waters as he is drawn against Noah Lyles and Oblique Seville in men’s 100m semi-final

Ghanaian sprint icon, Benjamin Azamati-Kwaku’s aim of qualifying into the finals of the men’s 100m at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is hanging on the cliff having been paired against some of the crème de la crème in the 100m dash.

The fastest Ghanaian ever [Azamati] who finished second 2nd [10.08] in heat 1 of the qualifying round behind Kishane Thompson [10.00], and ahead of Reynaldo Espinosa of Cuba.

Having made it into the semis the Ghanaian will now face Noah Lyles [USA], Obliqie Seville [Jamaica], Louie Hincliffe [Great Britain], Emmanuel Eseme [Cameroon], and Nigeria’s Favour Ashe in heat 1.

The first two finishers in each of the semi-final race earns automatic qualification into the final while the best two third place finishers also goes through into the final.
