2026 World Cup Qualifier: Central African Republic Arrive in Ghana

The Central African Republic (CAR) national team has arrived in Ghana ahead of their pivotal Group I clash against the Black Stars in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The highly anticipated fixture is scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, with kickoff set for 7 PM local time.

The Wild Beasts touched down in Ghana on Friday morning, just a day after Ghana secured an impressive 2–1 victory over Mali in Bamako. Both teams are eager to strengthen their position in the group and edge closer to qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana, four-time African champions, will aim to leverage home advantage and continue the momentum gained from their win in Mali. The Black Stars returned to Kumasi on Friday and are settled, finalising preparations for the crucial encounter.

The Central African Republic, coached by Raoul Savoy, are equally determined, having defeated Chad in their previous qualifier. Their arrival was warmly received by CAR supporters living in Ghana, reflecting the excitement surrounding the match.

Upon landing, the visiting delegation headed directly to their hotel, where they planned their first evening training session, vital for finalising tactics and match readiness against Ghana.

Currently, Group I is led by Comoros with six points, with Ghana closely behind. The standings could see further changes depending on the outcome of Madagascar’s clash with Comoros, adding extra significance to Monday’s game.

With both sides aiming to strengthen their position in the group, the upcoming encounter promises to be an intense and competitive fixture, keeping fans on edge as the road to the 2026 World Cup heats up.
