Ghana star Mohammed Kudus nets debut Champions League goal for Tottenham

Ghanaian playmaker Mohammed Kudus recorded his first-ever UEFA Champions League goal for Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening, playing a crucial role in a commanding 3–0 triumph over Slavia Prague.

The 25-year-old was named in the starting lineup for the decisive Round 6 clash and delivered an energetic display before being substituted in the 58th minute for Mathys Tel.

Tottenham broke the deadlock in the 26th minute after an unfortunate moment from Slavia Prague’s David Zima, who steered a corner into his own net while attempting to clear the danger.

Spurs came out of the dressing room with renewed intensity and were soon awarded a penalty following a lengthy VAR check.

Kudus assumed responsibility and calmly dispatched his effort straight down the centre, doubling the advantage and celebrating his long-awaited first Champions League goal for the North London side.

The Premier League outfit added a third in the 79th minute via another penalty. Although goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek managed to block Xavi Simons’ initial strike, the rebound trickled into the far corner, ensuring Tottenham sealed all three points with ease.

Kudus, who made the switch from West Ham United during the summer window, has now accumulated eight goal contributions this campaign.

With his confidence soaring after finally opening his Champions League account, the Ghanaian star will be eager to use this milestone as a springboard for even greater performances when Tottenham host Nottingham Forest and throughout the remainder of the season aiming to become one of the club’s most decisive attacking threats as the campaign intensifies.
