Diamond League London: Great Britain sets world lead time in women’s 4x100m relay

Dina Asher-Smith, Imani Lansiquot, Amy Hunt and Daryll Neita took advantage of good conditions in the London Stadium to equal their British 4x100m relays record of 41.55 seconds yesterday.
Rising to the occasion in front of the near 60,000-strong crowd, not only did the quartet match the national mark they ran at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan three years ago, but they enjoyed a confidence boosting performance ahead of the Paris 2024 Games as they beat the Olympic host nation France by more than half a second.
France quartet of Oliere O, Richard S, Parisot H, and Galet C finished second in 42.10 seconds while Team Great Britain 2 [Williams B, Henry D, Eze J, Eduan S] came third in 42.46 seconds.

Represented by Asha Philip, Imani-Lara Lansiquot, Dina Asher-Smith, and Daryll Neita, Team Great Britain set a record of 41.55 seconds at the Tokyo Olympic stadium as they claimed bronze medal for the seventh time, and would be hoping to better their time in France.
Meanwhile, the Great Britain men’s team didn’t enjoy as good an afternoon, though, as the A team failed to finish.
Jeremiah Azu, Louie Hinchliffe and Richard Kilty combined to get the team into a good position into the final exchange but Reece Prescod appeared to set off too soon and could not get the baton from a flailing Kilty.
Japan won in 38.07 from Australia with the GB’s second team anchored by Eugene Amo-Dadzie in third.
