Mbappé Brace Leads PSG to Dramatic Comeback Over Barcelona, Securing Champions League Semi-Finals

Paris Saint-Germain produced a stunning turnaround to defeat Barcelona and secure their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, thanks to a brilliant brace from Kylian Mbappé. Trailing 3-2 from the first leg, PSG faced a daunting task but demonstrated resilience and composure in a chaotic clash at Barcelona’s temporary home, the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

Barcelona initially took the lead through Raphinha, but their momentum was disrupted when Ronald Araujo received a straight red card, leaving the hosts with ten men for the majority of the match. PSG quickly capitalised on the numerical advantage. Ousmane Dembélé, playing against his former club, scored to give PSG a foothold, and Vitinha equalised before Mbappé converted a penalty to put the visitors ahead.

Mbappé then sealed the victory in the 89th minute, completing a remarkable comeback and sending PSG into the semi-finals for the first time since 2021. Their next challenge will be Borussia Dortmund, who reached the last four after a thrilling win over Atletico Madrid.

The semi-final first legs are scheduled for April 30 and May 1, with the return legs set for May 7 and 8, promising more high-stakes action and intense football drama in Europe’s premier competition.
