2026 World Cup qualifier preview: Comoros vs Ghana

Ghana seek redemption against Comoros in crucial World Cup qualifier
Ghana will be looking to bounce back when they face Comoros on Tuesday afternoon in their second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Stade de Moroni. Beyond the three points at stake, pride is also on the line, as the Black Stars will be keen to exorcise memories of their disappointing 3-2 defeat to Comoros at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a loss that ended their tournament in the group stage and remains one of their worst performances in recent memory.
Ghana began their qualifying campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Madagascar last week, while Comoros impressed in their opening game with a 4-2 win against the Central African Republic (CAR), although both of Comoros’ conceded goals came from own goals. The winner of Tuesday’s clash has a chance to climb to the top of Group I with six points, as Mali currently leads the group on four points following a draw with CAR after their opening win over Chad. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm local time.
