Wydad knocked out of FIFA Club World Cup following loss to Juventus

Wydad AC’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign suffered a significant setback with a 4-1 defeat to Juventus, leading to their elimination from the competition.

After losing 2-0 to Manchester City in their opening match, Wydad needed a strong response, but Juventus dominated the game.

Kenan Yıldız scored two early goals, and despite Wydad’s response through Thembinkosi Lorch, they couldn’t stem the Italian side’s momentum.

Yıldız completed his brace in the second half, and Dušan Vlahović sealed the win with a late penalty.

With no points, Wydad now sit at the bottom of Group being mathematically out of contention to qualify.

Mathematically, they need Al Ain to shock Manchester City and for Wydad to win their remaining matches, but even that might not be enough.
