Bernardo Silva Hails Semenyo’s Impact After Impressive Display

Bernardo Silva has heaped praise on Manchester City’s latest signing, Antoine Semenyo, applauding both his quality and character following an impressive start in sky blue.
Speaking after City’s recent cup triumph, Silva highlighted how quickly the Ghanaian forward has settled into Pep Guardiola’s squad, stressing that his attitude and team-first mentality have made an immediate impression within the dressing room.
Semenyo was on target in City’s 2–0 victory over Newcastle United in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final at St James’ Park, handing the holders a valuable away advantage. The 26-year-old’s intelligent movement and calm finishing caused persistent problems for the Newcastle defence, reinforcing City’s belief in moving swiftly to secure his signature.
“He looks not just like a very good player but also a very good guy, which fits perfectly with the team,” Silva said. “He is a fantastic guy who wants to help us. Hopefully, he can keep going.”
The forward’s influence has been immediate. Just days earlier, Semenyo marked his competitive debut by scoring once and providing an assist in City’s emphatic FA Cup win over Exeter City, quickly endearing himself to the Etihad faithful.
His strike against Newcastle also saw him enter the club’s history books, becoming the first Manchester City player to score in each of his first two appearances since Emmanuel Adebayor in 2009.
With confidence growing and a Manchester derby at Old Trafford looming, Semenyo will be eager to maintain his fine form and make another statement as City continue their push for silverware.
